Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 8 November 2023

Privacy is important to us at SnapQit™. Here is our Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy is designed to make sure you know what information we collect about you and how we use it.

In Summary, the only information we collect from you are five items: (1) an email address of your choosing; (2) a password of your choosing (3) a “handle” (i.e., username) of your choosing, which is typically one word such as, “Questionator”; (4) a profile picture of your choosing, for example, a picture of your dog or a flower you like; and (5) the SnapQs that you create using the app, and which you choose to make publicly available.  And we never share any of this information outside our own service, or when required by law; see below for more about these two instances. There is some additional technology-related information our Service collects to operate the Service, and these are detailed below.

1. Information we receive about you

“Information” in this and related documents means data that may include but not be limited to personal data.

A “SnapQ” is the primary object that you can create with the SnapQit app, and it is a photo with metadata that you add to the photo, where that metadata is additional information about the photo, typically in the form of a question or questions. There are two types of SnapQs: (1) Trivia SnapQs, where you add one correct answer and three incorrect answers; and (2) Help SnapQs, which contains a question and some additional information that you provide; these are typically used when you have a genuine question about something or someone in a photo.

SnapQit collects information that you provide directly to us (data that you provide to us) and also through your use of the SnapQit app.

1.1 Data that you provide to us

Account Creation Data: This is data that is required to create an account. Without it, we cannot provide you our Services.

  • Your email address, a handle (i.e., username) of your choosing that is unique to you (handle names cannot be duplicated in the system) and an optional profile photo.

SnapQ Data: We receive content that you create when you use our Services called a SnapQ, which can include –

  • A photo; alterations you make to the photo, including pinching and zooming, exposure changes, photo filters, overlaid scribbles you make, labels you can add to the photo and geolocation information for the photo (if available).

  • A question about the photo and the following optional information: a correct answer, three incorrect answers, additional text (typically to add more details to your question), a hint (typically for Trivia SnapQs), and hashtags.

Note that other users can copy (e.g., by grabbing a screenshot of) your Content and share it through other apps and services, so we recommend that you do not share any Content that you do not want other people see or copy.
